Although everyone can make their daily lives greener without spending a penny, some people decide to invest in green products such as "green" cars. hybrids. Driving green is easy on the environment. It can help to keep the piggy bank full.

Many sources confirm that hybrids are more efficient than regular cars, and can travel shorter distances while making frequent stops. This is the essence of hybrids - they use less gasoline and capture energy from braking, which allows them to run longer distances with fewer stops. What if you have to drive further than just to grocery shop or visit a friend in a suburb?

Joe White from the Wall Street Journal rode a 2012 Toyota Camry for 569 miles to test the hybrid hype. He was cruising along on an interstate road, stuck in a traffic jam-like city when he noticed that the Camry hybrid was only driving on its electric engine, and not any gasoline. Once he was able to push the gas pedal hard enough to enjoy more speed, the disappointment set in.

Overall, fuel economy is just as important as mileage. However, Camry Hybrid didn't turn out to be easy on Mr. White's pocketbook. It was not as simple as he had hoped. Only $21 was saved in gas money after the trip. Not all hybrid cars are designed for city driving. New York Times recently featured the Hyundai Sonata hybrid, which unlike other hybrids achieves better fuel economy, approximately 40 MPG highway and 36 MPG in cities.

To drive or to ship?

If you're environmentally conscious, which most likely you are, you will feel more comfortable driving a hybrid car that emits less carbon monoxide than conventional non-hybrid vehicles. The principle of "regenerative brake" is used in hybrids. This converts the car's energy into electrical energy and then recharges the battery. Cross-country trips (where you drive at highway speeds and have to brake very rarely) will make gas engines uses almost twice as much as an all-gas vehicle. This may lead you to conclude that hybrids are not as environmentally-friendly as you might think.

Your gas money allowance will not be affected by this. It is better to ship your hybrid vehicle than to drive it across the country, just as with any other car.
